Ross-on-Wye firefighters raise nearly £1000 during charity car wash

By Ross Gazette reporter in Emergency Services

The crew at Ross-on-Wye Fire Station, with a little help from family and friends, raised a record-breaking amount at their car wash on Saturday.

Starting at 11am, the firefighters washed dozens of dirty vehicles, only stopping to eat Domino’s Pizzas which were delivered free of charge by the store who wanted to show their support.

The Ross team raised £917 for the Firefighters Charity, which was even more than last year.

Other fire crews across the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) have also organised charity car washes this month, which have also been very well supported.

Area Commander Rob Ball said: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported the events, including many local businesses."
