The West Midlands Ambulance Service picked up a man who was found in Brampton Street, Ross-on-Wye at about 4am on Sunday, April 30th.
The patient was unconscious and had a head injury and was taken to Hereford Hospital.
One ambulance attended and a spokesperson for WMAS said that the emergency service was called by a passer by.
Update: A police spokesman told the Ross Gazette: "It has been established that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and no crime was deemed to have occurred."
However, friends of the patient are concerned about the severity of his injuries and are appealing to anyone who may know anything about this incident to contact the police by calling 101.
