Football success for Ross-on-Wye pupils

By Ross Gazette sports reporter in Football

John Kyrle High School has had another successful football year. Both Year 8 and 9 teams finished third in their respective leagues, just missing out on a semi-final place. The Year 10 team finished second in their league, beat John Masefield, Ledbury, 2-0 in their semi-final but then lost in their final at Edgar Street.

Pride of place, however, goes to the Year 11 team who won all seven league games, won 8-1 in their semi-final and went on to beat a strong Aylestone team 3-0 in the final, also played at Edgar Street, the home of Hereford FC.

Mr Donoghue would like to thank the staff who have worked with the teams, Mr Smith, Mr Elias, Mr Godwin and Mr Deucher. He would also like to thank all students who played for their effort and commitment and finally parents and carers for their continued support.
