Gold for local garden designer

Peter Dowle and his Howle Hill Nursery team are celebrating a clean sweep at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival after securing a Gold Medal, ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Best Construction’ awards for their show-stopping “At One With...A Meditation Garden.”

It was designed to offer a quiet retreat within a larger garden, suitable for meditation, yoga or simply a place to relax. Managing Director and co-designer Peter Dowle said: “Gardens and gardening provide a way of connecting the mind and body to the environment and the spirit, and including the five senses provides a bridge for these connections.”

When interviewed for the television programme about the Malvern Show the way he had designed to link the garden to the landscape of the rolling Malvern Hills was much appreciated.

Mr Dowle said:?“We are delighted our vision was so widely appreciated, a fantastic result and testament to our skilled construction and planting teams for capturing the essence of the design. It was our privilege to work with the RHS and Malvern committee once again to dress areas of the site - providing lighting, constructing staging and dressed plant supply. It was a massive team effort as always but with the help of a bit of good weather it made for a fantastic show that continues to grow year on year."

Visitors are welcome to browse the nursery, at Howle Hill, near to Ross-on-Wye, between Monday - Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
