A group of children, aged five to eight years old, started to learn more about the pleasure of cricket at an All Stars Cricket session at Ross-on-Wye Cricket Club on Friday, May 26th.

The All Stars Cricket sessions centre around partcipation, fun and enjoyment for local children. Members of Ross Cricket Club have recently visited several schools in the area, including Walford, Ashfield Park, Brampton Abbotts, and St Joseph’s, promoting the sport in assembly.

The session at the Sports Centre on Friday night marked the beginning of an eight week programme, where the children will learn cricket skills and learn how to play the game.

Stuart Mair, of Ross Cricket Club, told the Ross Gazette that All Stars Cricket is all about kids having fun and keeping active. Stuart and some members of the Under 15 cricket team, Alastair and Robbie, led the coaching.

Children who have signed up to take part in All Stars Cricket will recieve motivational messages from the England Cricket team, to encourage them to keep up the good work.
