Winning streak comes to an end for Goodrich tennis players

By Ross Gazette sports reporter in Football

Goodrich Men’s winning streak came to an end when they travelled to Boughton Park to take on their ’B’ Team on Wednesday, June 7th.

First pair Mike Buck and Daniel Madge, as pictured in the photo, lost their first rubber 6-4 / 6-3, and it was the same for Steve Heard and Dave Riddell in their opening rubber as well, going down 6-2 / 6-2. However it was a complete turn around in the next two rubbers as Mike and Daniel took theirs 6-1 / 6-3, and Steve and Dave won 3-6 / 6-0 / 7-6. Although equal on rubbers Goodrich dropped a set, so came away with a losing draw, but an excellent effort and keeps Goodrich at the top of their league table.

Anyone interested in playing tennis at Goodrich, at whatever level, please contact Kim via email via or you can telephone 07801 314333.

A Summertime Slam, a FREE event, will be held at Goodrich Tennis Club on Sunday, June 25th from 2pm onwards, open to non members - adults and children, whatever your standard.
