Change at top for Tindle Newspapers

By Ross Gazette reporter in Other News

Owner of the Ross Gazette, and many other local newspapers, Sir Ray Tindle has stepped down as Chairman of Tindle Newspapers and is handing over the day-to-day management of the company he founded to his son.

After more than 60 years at the helm, Sir Ray announced that Owen Tindle has taken on the chairmanship at the group’s top management conference last week.

Sir Ray, who celebrated his 90th birthday last year, will continue to serve as the company’s President.

Owen thanked his father and said: “We will have to continually re-appraise and re-align ourselves with the realities of the times and the reduced revenues that we are all experiencing, but we will go forward into the new era of local media, keeping things beautifully small and beautifully local.”
