The Harewood End Agricultural Society held its annual cricket event at Aston Ingham Cricket Club on Thursday evening (July 20th).

The match was between two scratch sides, made up of senior members and eleven juniors ranging in age from 9 to 19. Umpires were Peter Plumley and Brian Nixon, both of whom played for Ross-on-Wye in their youth.

The first team to bat set a target of 104 runs for eight wickets after 20 overs, but the second team were able to reach that with five overs to spare, thereby winning comfortably. The top scorer on the night was O Smith from Mulhampton with 31 runs before retiring.

A convivial evening hosted by the President, Sue Marshall, was enjoyed by all who attended. One senior non-playing member of the Harewood End Agricultural Society remarked that the young cricketing talent on show was a joy to behold.
