Ross now has its very own independent wine shop: Ross Wines has just opened at 53 The High Street in Ross and is next door to The Old Court House Bed and Breakfast.
Owner Christopher Kirkham-Sandy and business partner Anna Preston-Pyrros have nurtured their desire to focus on quality wines from the vineyards of the world. All of the wines are selected to represent the best of each country by teams of locally resident wine experts who nose out a range of quality offerings.
The total number of wines which Ross Wines can source is over 500 in number. At the shop they carry the most popular wines and the others can be sourced by the case for delivery to the customer’s home or other chosen address.
“We offer rich reds, ripe rosés and wondrous whites” they said. Within Europe their wines are sourced mainly from France, Italy and Spain. Wines from Greece and Portugal arrive in the autumn. They also stock present wines from South Africa, the New World and the USA.
Ross Wines focuses on wines from abroad as British wines are already well represented in Ross.
“Our wines range from about £7 a bottle upwards: that price tag is in the optimum price range for balancing quality to value. We stock Prosecco and can also deliver champagne; brandy; Armagnac and port.”
Ross Wines will supply orders for events and parties such as weddings; christenings; house warmings and office events. Business owner, Christopher said: “We will take back any surplus bottles of wine that are no longer required at the event if requested.”
