Year 6 pupils at Ashfield Park Primary School have recently completed their cycle training, with a 100% pass rate for the 44 children who under took the four hour practical and theory training course. This is the third year that Mr David Holmes, the Road Safety Officer for Herefordshire, has run the course at the school, but it is the first time that he has passed all the entrants. This course is an essential part of life skills training for young people, ensuring that they become more confident cyclists and more aware of the dangers involved in riding on the road. Once their parents have agreed, many of these Year 6 children will hopefully start riding their bicycles to school, as part of the Ashfield Park Travel Plan, to reduce congestion around the school and promote healthier, more independent students.
