A 31-YEAR-OLD woman from Ross-on-Wye, caught driving while intoxicated through drink, has been banned from the roads for a year.
At Cheltenham Magistrates Court, Frances De Leeuw of Ryeford pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes C220 on Newent Road, Highnam whilst above the legal alcohol limit on October 16 this year.
Prosecutor Emily Packer told magistrates that De Leeuw recorded 59 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which exceeded the legal limit of 35, when she was breathalysed by the police.
Presiding Justice Suzanne Alexander fined De Leeuw £120 and ordered her to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £48.
De Leeuw was given the option to take a driver rehabilitation course, which could reduce her driving ban by three months.
