Herefordshire History has been given two wonderful photographs from the 1930s, of workers from Ross-on-Wye General Post Office. They would love to add some more names to the faces. If you recognise anyone please leave a comment on this story or email [email protected] for us to pass on the details.

Herefordshire History is a local history project run by Herefordshire County Library Service. Their aim is to create a unique local history archive by digitising and sharing material that reflects the history and character of Herefordshire; preserving the visual history for future generations and making it freely accessible for researchers, students and the general public. Most of the material on the website comes from their own Herefordshire Libraries local history collection, but items have also been contributed by their many partners, including Herefordshire Archive Service, Herefordshire Museum, local history societies, and most importantly, by generous donations from the general public.

There are many more images of Ross-on-Wye, which make fascinating viewing, on their website at www.herefordshirehistory.org.uk/archive/herefordshire-images/ross-on-wye-images
