The West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the Royal Lodge Hotel at Symonds Yat East at 11.07am on Friday, September 9th, after it was reported that a man in his 60s had fallen from the roof.
A Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham was sent to the scene, along with a land ambulance.
A spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service told the Ross Gazette that the patient had fallen approximately 8ft off the roof of the Royal Lodge Hotel.
The ambulance staff were told that the man had lost consciousness for about a minute, but when crews arrived he had come around. However, he was not fully conscious, so he was taken to Hereford County Hospital by land ambulance.
He had also sustained some bruising to his left cheek.
An eyewitness, Adele Brain, caught this video of the departure of the Air Ambulance on Friday afternoon. The hand-ferryman who was midway across the river came into some difficulties after the wind caused by the hovering helicopter almost resulted in the hand-ferry crashing into a river cruise boat.
However, the hand-ferryman held on tight, and there was no boat collision.
