West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12 year old boy was approached by a man in Ross-on-Wye on Friday, September 22nd.

The boy was walking along Gloucester Road, Ross-on-Wye, at approximately 7pm when a large white van pulled up behind him and he was approached by the driver who told him to get into the vehicle or he would hurt him. The driver was a man described as white, 30-40 years old, medium build with brown hair, wearing a black beanie type hat and a brown jacket. He was described as having a foreign accent.

The boy ran into the Ryefield Centre car park but was pursued by the man. The boy told a member of the public in the car park that a man was chasing him, pointing out the man who then ran off.

The member of the public advised him to go straight home and tell his parents. This man is described as being in his 60s with grey facial hair, wearing a stripy top. Officers are appealing for him to get in touch by calling 101 as he could have important information about the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or saw somebody acting suspiciously in the Gloucester Road or wider Ross-on-Wye area, is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 734S of 22 September.
