A fire crew from Ross-on-Wye and a fire crew from Whitchurch attended an incident on the A49 at Peterstow on June 16th at 3.25pm.
There was a fire reported in the rear brakes of an articulated lorry which was carrying a load of beer.
The cab was disconnected from the trailer unit. One hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera were used to cool down the load, and the rear axle.
The Police were also in attendance.
A passing motorist, Alex Tomlinson, shared footage from his dash cam as he passed the scene, on Twitter, and said: “Truck on fire at the side of the A49 at Winter’s Cross near Ross-on-Wye. Seven fire extinguishers used by local fire alarm and extinguisher company Herefordshire Fire Protection before the fire brigade manage to get to the truck to fully put it out.”
