A local businessman is calling for an extension of the Ross-on-Wye’s CCTV to include Cantilupe Road.
Adrian, of S&R Taxis told the Ross Gazette that he has been able to supply the police with CCTV footage of an incident at the taxi office in Cantilupe Road on Tuesday, April 25th.
He told said that the cameras at the office captured a young man looking through the windows of the business at about 10pm. Later, the same man was seen on a pushbike going past the office several times, before he threw a brick through a window.
Adrian said that the man then tried to open the door which was locked. No entrance was gained to the office, which Adrian said was empty, apart from a coffee machine and a trophy cabinet.
He said the brick had damaged the cabinet when it came through the window.
However, Adrian thinks there should be official CCTV to cover the whole street. He said it is a very busy area, with the National Express coaches dropping people off, the bus stops and, of course, the library.
He said he will be writing to Ross Town Council asking for more investment in CCTV to cover the Cantilupe Road area.
