Local police officers are investigating a number of crimes which took place in the Ross-on-Wye area, during the past few days. They ask that if any local residents have any further information about any of the following incidents, they call 101, and give the reference number provided.

Suspicious van

Local residents reported a suspicious vehicle on Saturday, May 14th, which was being driven around Hill View Road. There were three occupants in the van, and they were reportedly looking for scrap. Petrol stolen

Someone unscrewed the fuel cap of a vehicle parked outside an isolated property in Welsh Newton Common, overnight between Monday, May 9th and Tuesday, May 10th. They siphoned off and stole 30 litres of unleaded petrol.

On Tuesday morning, the owner of the vehicle discovered the fuel cap was loose and the petrol gauge was showing the fuel tank to be low when it had been filled up two days before. Television and cash stolen

A burglary took place in Gloucester Road between 5.45pm hours on Thursday, May 12th and and 8am on Friday, May 13th. A bag containing a quantity of cash was taken along with a television.
