Local police officers are investigating a number of crimes which took place in the Ross-on-Wye area, during the past few days. They ask that if any local residents have any further information about any of the following incidents, they call 101, and give the reference number provided.

Attempted burglary

There was an attempted burglary at a barn under renovation in Foy, between 9pm on Saturday, September 3rd and 8am on Monday, September 5th. The door was kicked in, in order for the offender to gain entry, however nothing has been as reported as stolen.

Theft at Morrisons

While a woman was shopping in Morrisons Supermarket on Monday, September 5th, between 12.30pm and 1pm, her purse was stolen from within her shopping bag. She had been storing the bag within the main part of trolley.

Vandals spray paint church

Vandals climbed a ladder onto some scaffolding on Broad Street, in Ross-on-Wye town centre, and sprayed graffiti tags in black paint onto a Church building. This was reported to the police on August 30th.

Home burgled

A home in Riverview, Ross-on-Wye was broken into and a Toshiba laptop was stolen. It is not known for certain when this burglary took place, but investigating police officers estimate that it took place between midnight on Friday, July 29th and 3.06pm on Monday, August 29th.

Window damaged

The rear window of a property in Brampton Abbotts was damaged, between 2pm on Saturday, August 27th and 10am on Sunday, August 28th. Police have said that it does not appear that an attempt was made to gain entry.
