A dog owner from Symonds Yat has been ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work over the next twelve months after a woman was injured by his dog.

Barry Harlow, 52, of Symonds Yat West, pleaded guilty at Hereford Magistrates Court on February 22nd for being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog.

The dog, which is part Staffordshire Bull Terrier part Lurcher, will be destroyed if not kept under proper control by being kept on a lead and muzzled in public, apart from when travelling in a car, and on a lead in the garden unless in a securely fenced area.

Harlow was also ordered to pay £2663.36 compensation, a victim surcharge of £85, and costs of £185.
