Staff who work at the Larruperz Centre in Ross-on-Wye are convinced that a fire set under a hedge at the back of the building on Tuesday, August 16th was deliberate.

Les Phillips told the Ross Gazette that Beth Williams smelled smoke and asked the night caretaker, Greg Joyce to take a look. He discovered the fire and used a fire extinguisher on it. The Fire Service was called and Mr Phillips said within four or five minutes they were there.

He added that if the fire had been started a little later it could have gone all along the hedge and into the trees.
