Gloucestershire Constabulary are appealing for people who may have witnessed either one of two road traffic collisions, which occurred in the Forest of Dean on Thursday, February 11th; a driver was involved in two crashes, within a short space of time.

The first collision occurred in Cinderford, on Belle Vue Road, at approximately 6pm, on 11th February. A green Renault Megane Scenic collided with a blue Nissan Micra, which was travelling in the opposite direction. The female driver sustained a minor back injury. Her eight-year-old son, a passenger in the car, was uninjured.

The Renault failed to stop, and carried on driving.

It then collided again, around ten minutes later, with a grey Citroen Berlingo, which was parked on New Road in Littledean. This caused significant damage to the vehicle.

The Renault was later found in Littledean, and the male driver had already been taken to hospital.

Officers are waiting for the results of a blood test to establish whether the driver was over the drink drive limit.

At this point in time, no arrests have taken place.

Anyone who witnessed either incident, or the Renault driving in the area at around the time of the incidents, is asked to call police on 101, quoting the incident referene: 416 of Thursday, February 11th.
