A crew from Ross-on-Wye Fire Station was called, at about 5pm on Tuesday, January 31st, to a fire in the public toilets by the Caroline Symonds Garden in Ross.
The fire is believed to have started in a bin in the ladies toilets and was quickly extinguished. However, the toilets will have to remain closed until a deep clean can be carried out and an electrical inspection test for safety has been conducted.
A spokesperson for Ross Town Council, which is responsible for the public conveniences, told the Gazette, “I cannot say what the cost of the damage is at present, I am relieved it would appear to be limited to clear up costs.”
