Europe Quality Foods, a shop in Brookend Street, Ross-on-Wye which was recently raided by Police and Trading Standards Officers, will remain closed until August 6th. The owner of the property is also seeking to evict the tenants.

At Hereford Magistrates Court on May 7th a full Closure Order was obtained on the authority of Supt. Sue Thomas and is in place until 23.59hrs on August 6th, 2019.

The order was requested as a result of work carried out by the Herefordshire Multi Agency Tasking & Enforcement Strategy team (MATES) concerning the sale and supply of smuggled or contraband tobacco and fire safety issues.

Insp James Ashton, Herefordshire Rural Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: "The owner of the property has been very supportive of the Police throughout this process and will now take steps to evict his tenant."

He added: "This is just the latest of a series of successful MATES operations and shows the benefits of working with partner agencies to tackle issues normally out of the remit of the Police that impact and harm our communities."
