Two fire crews from Ross-on-Wye rescued a horse from a ditch in Ryeford on Saturday, December 3rd.

The crews were called at 2pm to the incident. The horse was 17hh, and the firefighters rescued the animal by cutting away the undergrowth and creating edging to the ditch to form a shallow path.

The owner asked for a vet to check the horse for injuries, after it was extricated by the fire crews.

One man needed medical assistance, and was taken to hospital by the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
