Concerns expressed by a local resident, Mary Osborne, at a meeting between Ross Town Council and the Wye Valley NHS Trust about equipment being moved from Ross Community Hospital to Hereford Hospital, have been laid to rest by Jill Davies, Chairman of the Friends of Ross Hospital.

She told the Ross Gazette that a Visual Fields Machine had been moved from Ross to Hereford on ‘temporary loan’ whilst the Hereford machine was waiting to be replaced. As there are few clinics in Ross over the Christmas period, the Ross machine would be more useful in Hereford.

The Friends of Ross Hospital have over the years raised thousands of pounds to pay for vital equipment by organising coffee mornings, street collections, shop sales and an annual hospital garden fete, and they acknowledge that the people of Ross have been incredibly generous to ‘their’ hospital.
