The passenger in car which overturned at Whitchurch, on the A40, near to the Murco Service Station, was air lifted to Southmead Hospital on Tuesday, June 13th.

The West Midlands Ambulance service was called by the police at 10.45am to the A40 between Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye, and a paramedic officer, a land ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended.

Colleagues from the South Wales Ambulance Service also attended.

Two crews from Ross Fire and Rescue attended, as well as the crew from Whitchurch and a crew from Gloucester Fire Service. The car was stabalised by Fire Service personel and the two people in the car were released by Fire Service personnel. This took 45 minutes.The passenger, a woman in her 60s, had chest, shoulder and rib injuries. The driver, a man in his 70s, had shoulder and facial injuries but was fully conscious and taken to Nevil Hall Hospital, Abergavenny by land ambulance.

One car was involved in the incident.
