Police are putting out a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward, following an incident in Hereford, where a man was left lying in the road, with potentially serious head injuries.
Police are still eager for witnesses to give statements, even though the incident occurred several months ago; it happened in the early hours of the morning (between 1.30am and 2.30am) on Good Friday (April 18th) when a man in his 20s was walking home along Whitecross Road after being at a nightclub in the city.
As he reached the Aldi store, he heard a woman screaming and shouting from the opposite side of the road and went to see if he could help.
He was then found unconscious in the middle of the road by a member of the public, who called an ambulance.
DC Peter Bradbury of Hereford CID said: “This was the start of the Bank Holiday weekend and Whitecross Road is a busy route for people leaving the city centre clubs.
“We are trying to locate anyone who saw how this man came by his injuries. There were earlier reports of a female shouting in the same area. I am appealing to taxi drivers and people in the area at the time who can assist with this enquiry to get in touch."
Anyone with information is asked to call DC Bradbury on the non emergency number 101 quoting incident number 212s 230414.
Alternatively information can be passed on anonymously by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or completing its online form by logging on to www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
