Two crews from Ross Fire Station attended an incident in Gloucester on Sunday, September 16th, where 2000 tonnes of logs were alight.
Sally Waldron, Group Manager for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We were called at 12.22pm on Sunday, September 16th by a member of the public telling us about a large fire on a farm in Bulley just outside Churcham, Gloucester.
“A total of nine fire engines attended the scene; three crews from Gloucester, one from Newent, one from Cheltenham, one from Cinderford, one from Upton-St-Leonards, two from Ross-on-Wye, along with two specialist water carrying appliances.
“Crews used five jets to tackle the fire and successfully put a fire break in to prevent any further damage. The fire was surrounded and under control by the evening and the incident was scaled back. One appliance remained on scene throughout September 17th to monitor the situation and left at 17.44.”
