An Open Day will be held at the Fire Station is Ross-on-Wye on Saturday, July 13th from 10am to 4pm for visitors to meet their local firefighters, see the crew's new fire engines and learn about the equipment there.
Organisers have arranged lots to do for all the family, and there will be child-friendly fire engine rides around town too.
A spokesperson from Ross Fire Station said: "Please come down and see your local fire service. We will be doing a number or demos from Road Traffic Collision (RTC) to chip pan fires.
"There will be staff on station to answer your questions and show you around. Also we will be offering fire engine rides - all for a donation to the Fire Fighters Charity."
A HWFRS spokesperson told the Ross Gazette: “Open days at Ross have been hugely successful in the past. They are a great way for us to meet people in the community we serve, and for them to get to know who we are.
“The open day is an event we all look forward to and we hope that people will make a note of the date and bring their families along.
“Entry is free and there will be plenty to interest everyone, whatever their age.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
