Local police are warning that several Ross-on-Wye residents have recently received scam telephone calls, and advise other people to be aware.
The victims have received telephone calls, whereby an automated message claiming that the caller is HM Revenue & Customs, and they are being fined. They are the instructed to press option 1. In the hundreds of cases reported to Action Fraud in the past month, the fraudsters all ask for payment in iTunes gift card voucher codes
