Ross and Fownhope fire crews were called last night (Wednesday, September 21st) at 6.16pm to reports of a cooker fire at a property on Rudhall Close in Ross-on-Wye.

The crews used compressed air foam to extinguish the electrical fire. After an investigation, the crews discovered there was excessive heat behind the cooker.

The fire had been caused by an electrical fault within the hob supply; the hob was removed and the electrical supply isolated.
