Two fire engines from Ross-on-Wye and one fire engine from Gloucester Fire and Rescue attended a house fire in Brockmoor Lane, Gorsley, on Saturday, July 2nd at 10.30am.

One casualty was treated at the scene by fire service personnel for smoke inhalation.

The fire was extinguished via the use of one hose reel jet.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) are issuing safety advice following an increase of home fires.

Station Commander Alan Haley from the Community Risk Department said: “Half of all accidental house fires start in the kitchen so we urge people to take extra care when cooking. This month is also Fire Kills cooking safety month, which is a timely reminder to stay safe in the kitchen."
