A Ross-on-Wye resident wants to make local people aware of yet another telephone scam operating in the area.

This time a person calls and either asks if you would be willing to sponsor a special drug and alcohol education booklet which will be sent to local schools, or asks for payment as you have already agreed to sponsor these phamphlets.

The person on the telephone can be very convincing, especially when they call small businesses who have a track record of helping or sponsoring local organisations.

The resident who spoke to the Ross Gazette said that the number which called him was 01613 900452 and, if you google this, there is a lot of information on-line.
