Following a recent spate of burglaries in Ross-on-Wye and the surrounding villages, police are warning local residents to be wary of scammers, attempting to obtain details about home security.

Yesterday (Thursday, January 21st) a Llangrove resident received a telephone call from a person enquiring about burglar alarms. The resident said that the caller was asking them a lot of questions, many of these questions were focused on the resident’s home security.

The resident at first assumed they were trying to sell something, but the call was made from a withheld number, and local police officers believe this is part of a scam. The resident did not divulge any details about their own home security.
