Ross-on-Wye and Whitchurch fire crews attended a significant fire in a derelict building on Penyard Lane last night, Wednesday, January 10th.

West Mercia Police also attended due to concerns over the cause of the fire. The cause is currently being treated as suspicious and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 699s of 10 January. Two crews from Ross, one from Whitchurch and a remote access vehicle attended the fire which was in a building approximately 10 x 20 metres. The fire was extinguished by attacking with foam, one hose reel jet and one main jet.
