Police are warning members of the public about men who were driving around residential areas of Ross-on-Wye on Thursday, January 21st, and it is believed they may have been surverying the properties, scouting out potential homes to burgle.
Police received two reports on Thursday. These came from two members of the public, who reported that a man had knocked on their doors, asking if they wanted to buy fresh fish. This happened at about 1pm in The Avenue, and then 1.30pm in Tudor Street.
The second report also described three men in a blue transit van. The man who came to the door was described to police as white, British with balding hair.
An eyewitness reported that when no one answered the door at one property, he pressed his nose against the glass of the front door to see inside the home.
