Police Officers patrolling on the A40 between Wilton and Pencraig came across a suspicious vehicle, shortly after midnight on Thursday, August 24th.

An unattended white Volkswagen Golf was at the side of a road running parallel to the A40 and when officers made a return pass, a silhouette was seen running from the vehicle.

Police conducted a search of the area, with helicopter support from NPAS, discovering two vehicles that had been broken into outside Orles Barn Hotel.

A search of the suspect vehicle recovered a number of agricultural power tools that are believed to have been stolen, with the vehicle subsequently being seized for forensic examinations.

Police believe two suspects may have been in the area at the time the car was abandoned and are appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 4s of August 24th.
