Ross-on-Wye’s Safer Neighbourhood Team held a property marking event to help keep residents’ property secure. The event took place today, Monday, September 24th, and many locals attended with their valuables, all marked free of charge.
This help was available from 8.00am to 2.00pm outside Screwfix at the Ashbourton Industrial Estate. The team were able to mark anything of importance, from small electricals like laptops and tablets, to bigger goods like lawnmowers and bicycles.
One resident brought his lawnmower and work tools.
The team, consisting of police officers and volunteers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, marked the goods in pens that were available to buy. Officer Shirley Peters told the Ross Gazette: "These types of procedures are about raising the risk for criminals, and lowering their potential reward. It is key to put as many barriers in place as possible."
