A 52-year-old serial drink-driver has been given a suspended prison sentence for her fifth offence of being over the limit.

Debra Collins of Joys Green, Lydbrook, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court to driving with excess alcohol in Lower Lydbrook on September 13th.

Collins, who had four previous drink-driving convictions, was found to have 105 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35 micrograms.

She was banned from driving for five years, given a 16-week jail sentence suspended for two years and a 12-month community order with an alcohol treatment programme.

Magistrates also ordered Collins, who further admitted driving without insurance and without a licence, to pay £85 prosecution costs.
