A vulnerable, elderly American man, who suffered from Dementia, has been identified, and his story will be shown on BBC Panorama tonight (Monday, January 30th).

The man was found in Hereford in November 2015. He was unable to tell the authorities anything about himself. He had given the name Roger Curry, although it was not certain that this was his real name.

While investigations were ongoing to determine who he was an where he had come from, Mr Curry was looked after at a supportive care environment in a residential home in Herefordshire.

West Mercica police put out several media appeals, and finally, last year, a viewer of a BBC Midlands news bulletin, came forward with some information, which helped the police conclude their investigation.

Mr Curry has now been sent back to the United States, and is now at a care home in Los Angeles.

Roger Curry’s story will be shown tonight, on Panorama, at 8.30pm on BBC One.
