The Ross Gazette has received several reports from the police, detailing thefts which took place at hotels in Ross-on-Wye recently.
In the first incident, a ladies handbag was left in a communal area a hotel in Ross, between 10pm on Thursday, April 21st and 7am on Friday, April 22nd. When the owner returned to it the next morning, she discovered that several items had been stolen, including credit cards, cash and a driving licence.
Her car keys were amongst the items missing, however her car was not taken. Police are investigating the theft. If you have any further information please call 101, and quote the incident reference number: 84-S-220416.
At another hotel in the town, an unknown person entered a guest’s room via an unidentified entry point and stole cash, two bank cards, one photocard driver’s licence and one counterpart driver’s licence. Police estimate this theft took place on Thursday, April 21st, between 6.45pm and 9.50pm.
At around 9pm that same evening, one of the bank cards was attempted to be used for a purchase of £250 at a location on the M5 motorway. Due to several unsuccessful attempts to enter the PIN number, however, the card was blocked.
