The Emergency services were called yesterday (Thursday, June 2nd) to a house fire on Alton Road, Ross-on-Wye at 2.43pm.
One ambulance attended and assessed two patients who had suffered mild smoke inhalation. They didn’t require hospital treatment.Two fire engines from Ross-on-Wye Fire Station also attended the scene. One hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus, a covering jet, a gas monitor and positive pressure ventilation was used to extinguish the fire. Oxygen therapy was given to two casualties.The police were also called to the fire. They were contacted by the Fire Service who asked them to manage the traffic, due to a sharp bend in the road, which was close by. A road closure was in place until approximately 4pm.A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told the Ross Gazette: "This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
