The Emergency Services were called to Gorsley this morning (Monday, September 5th), just after 7am, to reports of a road traffic collision.

The B4221 in Gorsley has been closed in both directions between Newent and the Ivy House Lane Junction.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service told the Ross Gazette that they were called at 7.05am this morning to Pound Farm Lane, after two cars were involved in the collision.

Two casualties were treated at the scene, one who was suffering from back pain and another who was suffering from pelvic pain.

Both casualties, one man and one woman, were taken to Hereford Hospital.

West Mercia Police were also called shortly before 7.05am this morning to reports of a collision between a grey Fiat Punto and a red Ford Focus on the B4421, close to Gorsley Goffs Primary School, Gorsley, Ross-on-Wye.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, were also called to the scene. Crews from Ross-on-Wye and Newent were required to make the scene safe.

Highways are also currently attending to deal with a fuel spillage on the road surface.[UPDATE] The B4221 in Gorsley has now re-opened.
