A couple who own and run a very popular caravan park in Ross-on-Wye, say they are faced with a four-figure clean-up bill, after their park has been repeatedly visited by several vandals during the past week.
Last week, the Ross Gazette reported that Brian and Elizabeth Edwards, who own the Caravan Park near to the Ashburton Industrial Estate, had their fence smashed, and litter - empty cans of energy drink - was thrown around the park.
Since then, there have been several further visits from the group of vandals. Mrs Edwards said Friday, February 20th, was their first recent visit, but the group came again on Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
During these visits, the group have torn down the Wifi mast from the top of the shower block, damaged several roof tiles on the shower block, started a fire at the entrance of the shower block, attempted to start a fire in the children’s play area, and damaged the spotlights at the entrance of the shower block.
“We are sick and fed up of this,” Mrs Edwards told the Gazette.?“We’ve very upset, and this is going to be a costly job to fix.”
In a stroke of luck, at around the time of the vandals’ visit on Thursday evening, some figures were captured on CCTV, during daylight hours. Just before 5pm, the CCTV footage shows four figures climbing over a fence, near to the entrance of the caravan park. One of the figures somersaults over the fence, and all four run across the field, out of the vision of the camera. All four figures appear to be wearing dark clothes.
About half an hour later, another figure in a bright blue hoodie, also climbs over the fence and heads in the same direction across the field, as the other four. It is hoped that these people will have information about the one of the incidents.
