All of the events that Ross Juniors FC have held this summer have gone to raising money for the club and the clubhouse. These improvements have once again been vandalised.

Most recently, some of the club’s money funded three picnic benches to offer more outdoor seating.

It was reported that a member of the cricket club later discovered, on Wednesday, July 24th, that one of the benches was vandalised. A Ross Juniors spokesperson reported: “They then got abuse from the youths when reclaiming it.”

This follows the destruction of club property in May in which football dugouts, security fencing, and picnic benches were damaged.

One local resident said: "Disgusting. We were only using the facilities over the weekend for a kick about and a picnic. Such a shame."

A spokesperson for Ross Juniors said: “We will keep on improving the sports centre for the community, football club, cricket club. We have dog walkers using the facilities, runners, families, people going down for a kick about and shortly will be hosting park run.

“We are proud of our sports centre and our town and these idiots won’t put us off. These youths would have used the sports centre at some point. One day they’ll be parents and they’ll be down the sports centre with their kids to use the facilities.”
