An unknown man attempted to break-in to a business premises in Henry Street by smashing a window, after attempts to force the door open were unsuccessful.

The attempt to break in to the business, with a flat above it, happened just after midnight on Saturday, April 23rd.

The shop itself has a glass front and is accessed from the street through a main PVC door. The suspect tried to gain entry into the building by forcing the lock on the door. The lock was damaged, but no entry was gained.

The suspect then used a shovel to smash the window next to the door, again to try and gain entry.

A witness heard the suspect bang on the window three times before she heard it smash. The witness shouted to the suspect, who then fled the scene.
