Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision that occurred at 4.25pm on Wednesday, May 23rd.
The collision is believed to have occurred when the 25 year old female rider of a black Honda CG 125 motorcycle, who was travelling on the B4224 through the village of Hampton Bishop out of the city was in collision with a Honda 4x4 travelling in the opposite direction towards the city. The female who is from Presteigne was in the company of two other motorcycles after completing a CBT training test when the collision occurred.
Members of the public including a retired firefighter were first on the scene and commenced first aid and CPR, however unfortunately these efforts were unsuccessful and her injuries were fatal.
The driver of the Honda 4x4 suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed and diversions put in place to allow emergency services to attend the scene.
