The driver of a VW Polo, a 64-year-old woman, dies following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle near Ledbury on Friday,July 10th.

The woman was taken to Hereford County Hospital but sadly died at around 5.20pm.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the fatal road traffic collision on the A449.

A heavy goods vehicle was travelling northbound towards Ledbury past Lodge Hill House Farm when it was in collision with a white VW Polo.

A passenger in the VW Polo, a 68-year-old woman, sustained a serious arm injury. The driver of the HGV, a 64-year-old man, was not injured.

Police are eager to establish the circumstances of the collision and wish to hear from anyone who witnessed it, or the vehicles leading up to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 417S of Friday 10 July.
