Whether you are a fan of fairy tales, enjoy the escapism of science fiction or cherish classic children’s stories there is something to delight everyone at St Mary’s Church Flower Festival in Ross-on-Wye this weekend.
A life-size silver Dalek, a flying Harry Potter and scenes including the Tales of Beatrix Potter are just some of the delightful creations included in this beautiful festival. Entitled ‘Fairy Tales to Fiction’, it opens today, Friday, August 19th until Monday, August 22nd from 10am until 4pm (Sunday opens at 11am). Entry will be £4 and children are free. Familiar stories are depicted in 32 stunning displays throughout the Church, including the Wizard of Oz, 80 Days Around The World and Hansel and Gretal.
Refreshments will be served throughout the weekend and there will be stalls to tempt you in the churchyard on Saturday morning.
Local and church flower arrangers have joined to bring their talents and imagination together to make this an unforgettable event. Everyone is welcome to visit the church, spot well-known characters and name their favourite stories.
St Mary’s is looking forward to welcoming old and new friends to enjoy the weekend and help raise much-needed funds to support the Church’s Mission in the community.
