Dear Editor,

What a fantastic day we had at our second Proms Event and if you weren’t there you missed a treat. The weather was on our side this year and brought out the largest audience we have seen at the Bandstand, really fantastic to see.

A very big thank you to: The Forest of Dean Male Voice Choir, The Metz Big Band, Allegra Ladies Choir and, of course, Ebbw Valley Brass, such a wonderful variety of music to suit everyone.

Thanks to all the stall holders for adding to this event in providing food, drinks and ice creams for people to buy, if they had decided not to bring a picnic. I know this went down well as they had almost sold sold out.

Big, big thank you to Hannah Lerego for all she has done to help make this event succeed and especially during this last week with the news that Roy had suffered a stroke. She took it upon herself to get more help for the day.

Thanks to Ross Town Council, without them this event would not have gone ahead, as they provided funding for this event and also the Bands In The Park Summer Concerts, so we are most grateful to them.

A big thank you to all the helpers on the day, we couldn’t havedone it without you all. Grateful thanks to The First Responders as it proved they were needed on the day.

Lastly, to let you know Roy is on the mend, it may be slow but he will get there in the end and he thanks everyone for all your best wishes.

We would like to say a massive thank you to you all for making the Bands in The Park Concerts and Proms such a wonderful success.

Roy and Jennifer
